The purpose of the research is to understand the efforts of Fire Prevention on Ships through the Improvement of Crew Knowledge. This research is a qualitative study using observation, interviews, documentation, and data triangulation methods. Qualitative research methods are research methods used to study objects in their natural conditions (as opposed to experiments) where the researcher acts as the key instrument, and data collection techniques are conducted through triangulation (combination) of inductive data analysis. The results of qualitative research emphasize meaning rather than generalization. Based on the research results and discussions conducted by the researchers regarding fire knowledge on ships, it is essential to prepare firefighting equipment such as foam extinguishers, gas extinguishers, dry powder extinguishers, and CO2 extinguishers. Efforts to effectively address the fire hazard on ships require the preparation of well-functioning firefighting equipment. Therefore, the maintenance of firefighting equipment must be carried out efficiently to ensure that the equipment functions properly during a fire hazard. Additionally, fire drills should be conducted regularly to enhance vigilance and improve skills in using the equipment and its completeness. This will increase understanding of safety equipment, particularly firefighting tools, thereby optimizing their performance and improving the readiness level of the firefighting equipment for use.
