Abstract

Performance is the result of employees' work viewed from the aspects of quality, quantity, working time, and cooperation to achieve the goals set by the organization.  The research approach used is quantitative research, where quantitative research is a process of discovering knowledge using numerical data as a tool to analyze information about what is to be known.  The research subjects are the primary source of research data, possessing data on the variables being studied.  The subjects in this study are all the crew members on board the tanker ship X, totaling 22 people.  The measurement of this study uses a 1-5 Likert scale to gauge respondents' responses, specifically the scale 1 (strongly disagree); 2 (disagree); 3 (neutral); 4 (agree); 5 (strongly agree).  The research results show that the partial test of age on crew performance indicates a Sig value of 0.013 and a t-value of -2.745.  The test results indicate that age has a significant negative impact on the performance of the crew on the ship.  The negative t-value means that as age increases, performance will decline.  Age affects crew performance, as seen from the Sig value of 0.013, which is less than 0.05.  It can be concluded that age affects crew performance.  The research results show that the simultaneous test of rest hours and age on crew performance indicates a Sig value of 0.014 with a calculated f value of 5.377.  From the Sig value results, it shows that 0.014 is less than 0.05,  It can be concluded that together, rest hours and age collectively influence the performance of the crew on the ship.
